After dinner at I Latini, we decided to take a few wicker wrapped wine bottles around downtown Florence for fun...WADDDUPP BRIAN!!!!! Posting any additional pictures of this evening could have a negative inpact on my well being ;-) !

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS The closest major city to Radda in Chianti is Florence, Italy. Rome, Milan, and Bologna are also major cities with train connections to Florence that are easy to use. There are many ways to get to Europe and Italy. Ryan Air, www.ryanair.com, operates inexpensive flights within Europe. They fly in and out of secondary airports in major cities in Europe. You might consider flying to a major city such as London or Frankfurt, connecting to Bologna, Italy on Ryan Air, and then taking a train from Bologna to Florence. We will be monitoring flights to Italy and will keep an eye out for good deals. Please let us know if you have any questions about traveling to Florence and Radda in Chianti. We will also be researching accommodations around Radda in Chianti and Florence.

PS: VERY IMPORTANT! Since someone posted a picture of an ALITALIA aircraft, here is my sincere advice: DO NOT FLY ALITALIA!! It is probably the worst international carrier ever! They cancel flights on a daily basis for "operational reasons", and their employees are on strike most of the time. Pick any other major international airline for your travel arrangements...Trust me guys, I've been working close to Alitalia for too long now. Ciao! Mauro

PS2: USEFUL TIPS & TRICKS (and websites!)
Hi, it's still me (the groom's bro-in-law)!
Just wanted to give you a few more options as far as flights and stuff.
- Florence has a sucky airport. We, at the Bologna airport, too often have to "welcome" passengers who were supposed to land in Florence. Most of the times it's because of strong winds (!). So the main airport in Tuscany is PISA, better served than Florence itself.
- Venice is a good option if you're looking at non stop flights US-to-Italy, probably the best option after Rome. Venice is served non stop from JFK, Atlanta (Delta) and Philadelphia (USAirways). You might as well consider a stopover in Venice before heading towards the Tuscan countryside :)
- If you're looking into hoppin' around Europe on cheap flights, check this awesome search engine for low-cost carriers: www.skyscanner.net

Cell Phone Service - Does anyone know how to make your cell phone work in Italy/Europe? I would be cool to be able to carry a cell phone around with us, since we (this is Brent) are going to be traveling around Europe for a couple of weeks. I'll post more information here if I figure out the best option...

ABOUT THE CEREMONY

Date: October 21, 2006 1:00 PM

Location: Villa Calafrale, Radda in Chianti, Italy

If you can get to Florence, Italy, we can get you to Radda in Chianti (30 minutes by car south of Florence). We are working on arranging a bus or a few minivans to help get everyone around. We are also looking into a few different activities for October 18th, 19th, and 20th. Please check below for any updates.
The wedding attire for guests is potentially Black Tie, but we want to discuss this with those bound for Italy first.

ADDITIONAL WEDDING DETAILS We are trying to arrange different activities for October 18, 19, and 20 in Tuscany. Currently, we are thinking of making Friday, October 20 a Florence day since the rehearsal dinner is in Florence that night. We will be getting together at Villa Calafrale, Radda in Chianti, Italy on Sunday, October 22, 2006 after the wedding to eat left-overs, tell stories, and just relax in the Tuscan countryside. All are welcome! Receptions will be held in Seattle, WA and Grand Junction, CO. The date has been set for the Seattle Reception - January 20, 2007.
